The Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic issued from 4 May 2021, a new measure amending the old decision on travel by citizens from countries with an extreme or low risk of infection.
Travelling
Effective from 4 On May 2021, the Ministry of Health banned all third-country nationals from entering the Czech Republic from countries not listed as being at extreme or low risk of contracting COVID-19. This prohibition also applies to holders of temporary or permanent residence permits from third countries in those third countries.
A roadmap and further information on this matter is available on the Ministry of Health website. There are exceptions to this measure.
Exceptions:
- foreigners who have been granted a short-term visa after 11 May 2021,
- holders of valid long-term visas, permits for long-term, temporary or permanent residence in the Czech Republic
- foreign holders of long-term or temporary residence permits in countries with a low risk of COVID-19
- accredited members of diplomatic missions
- foreigners with long-term or permanent residence in the EU
- international transport staff
- cizinci, kteří prokáží partnerství s občanem ČR nebo občany EU s přechodným pobytem nad 90 dnů nebo povolením k trvalému pobytu v ČR (na základě potvrzení MZV)
- family members, i.e. spouse, parent (if EU citizen under 21), child under 21, child of EU citizen spouse, child or ancestor or child or ancestor of EU citizen spouse if the child is dependent on the EU citizen or EU citizen spouse.
