PROFESSIONAL IMMIGRATION SERVICE FOR COMPANIES AND INDIVIDUALS
Government Skilled Worker Programme
Recently, we have been seeing more and more construction companies dealing with a shortage of skilled workers. Considering that most of them demand Ukrainian nationality, in order to apply for an employment card and get an appointment at the relevant visa center, the employer in the Czech Republic must be included in the government program. One of them, which most often construction companies deal with is the so-called. skilled worker programme.
Who is this government programme for?
- For corporations that have been operating in the Czech Republic for 2 years and are REALLY active in manufacturing, services, public sector, agriculture, forestry, or food processing and currently employ 6 or more employees.
- For companies interested in skilled workers from Ukraine, Mongolia, Serbia, Philippines, India, Belarus, Moldova, Montenegro and Kazakhstan
- The classification of occupations in classes 4-8 in manufacturing, services or the public sector also plays an important role
- The employer must have employed at least 6 employees for at least 3 consecutive months on the date of submission
- Settled liabilities to the state (FÚ, ČSSZ, ZPs)
What problems do employers most often address under this programme?
These include in particular the following:
- The employer does not have published financial statements in the commercial register
- The employer is in arrears with social security and health insurance and therefore it is not possible for him to be issued with a debt-free certificate
- The employee has been employed for less than 1 year
- This is not a full-time job
- The wage or salary is not at least 1.2 times the guaranteed wage corresponding to the relevant job group according to the relevant government regulation…
Although inclusion in the aforementioned government program entails a lot of conditions that the employer has to meet, on the other hand, after successful inclusion, potential workers from Ukraine can apply for an employment card, in which case the visa process is much easier compared to non-inclusion in government programs.
Benefits for applicants under the government programme
- Applicants enrolled in the Programme are guaranteed to apply for an employment card at the relevant Czech embassy abroad
- The application for an employee card is processed within the statutory time limits
